Step Up for Students runs Florida's scholarships: FES-EO, FES-UA, tax-credit awards and the PEP home-education program. Families find approved vendors in the EMA Marketplace or claim by receipt.

The programs in brief

Family Empowerment Scholarship for Educational Options (FES-EO) serves K-12 students broadly, around $7,850 a year. Family Empowerment Scholarship for Unique Abilities (FES-UA) serves students with qualifying disabilities, around $9,860 a year. The Personalized Education Program (PEP) serves home education under the tax-credit umbrella. New Worlds Reading supports young readers.

The marketplace

Log in to EMA, open Marketplace, pick your student and find providers. Reserve funds, then book with the vendor. MyScholarShop sells curriculum and materials inside the same portal. Shipping addresses must match the home address in EMA or orders fail.

Direct purchase also works. Families can buy pre-approved instructional materials and curricula from vendors directly, then claim reimbursement with receipts.

Vendors families use

Outschool says it is an approved provider for FES-EO, FES-UA and FTC-PEP, with reimbursement by receipt. Elite Animation Academy in Orlando says it has served FES-UA, FES-EO, FTC and New Worlds families for over a decade, in studio and online.

Syllables Learning Center says Step Up lists it as an approved specialized provider for FES-UA tutoring and assessments. In-Home Tutors Orlando says it is a FES-UA approved provider across Central Florida. McKibben and Monte describes FES-UA speech, occupational therapy and tutoring in Jacksonville, Tampa and Sarasota.

Enrichment counts with proof. Krav Maga in Fort Lauderdale is approved under Fitness Classes. Miami Roller Rink explains Step Up payment for skating. Summer camps qualify when they meet the educational-benefit test.

Paperwork

Match the shipping address to EMA. Keep itemised invoices with your child's name. File termly. Scholarship rules renew yearly, so re-check provider status each year.
